These are the trade tools for laying tile and working stone — cutting, drilling, mixing and levelling. They are here because the people buying tiles from us are frequently the ones laying them.
The range covers bridge saws, manual tile cutters, forced action mixers, diamond blades, core bits and hole saws, levelling clips and wedges, spacers and caulking guns.
What you need to lay a tile floor
- Cutting. A manual cutter scores and snaps — fast, dry, and fine for straight cuts in most tile. A wet bridge saw is what you need for porcelain, thick stone, mitres and any cut where the edge will be visible.
- Drilling. A diamond core bit or hole saw for tap holes and waste penetrations. Never a masonry bit; it will crack the tile.
- Mixing. A forced action mixer for adhesive and screed in any quantity. A drill paddle works for a bathroom, not for a floor.
- Levelling. Clips and wedges pull adjacent tiles flush while the adhesive sets. On large format tile they are the difference between a flat floor and a lipped one.
Two things to check on any cutting or drilling gear: that the arbor size matches your machine, and whether the blade or bit is rated wet, dry or both. Running a wet-only blade dry destroys it.
