Shower Base

A shower base is the moulded floor of the shower, made in one piece, with the fall to the waste already formed. It is the alternative to building and waterproofing a tiled floor on site.

The range covers SMC bases in 900 x 900mm and 1200 x 900mm, plus tile trays for where a tiled finish is wanted, and the wastes and grates to suit.

Moulded base or tiled floor

A moulded base arrives with the fall correct and the surface already waterproof. There is no bedding, no screed and no tiling on the floor of the shower, which takes days out of the job and removes the most common place a bathroom leaks.

A tile tray is a middle option: a pre-formed tray with the fall built in and a recess on top that gets tiled, so you get the accuracy of a moulded fall with the appearance of a tiled floor.

A fully tiled floor gives complete freedom on size and shape, and it is the only option for an irregular or oversized shower. It also puts the waterproofing entirely in the hands of whoever does it.

Measure the opening before ordering. A moulded base cannot be cut down, so the recess has to suit the base rather than the other way around, and it needs to fit through the door of the room.
